Company background

Three decades of electrical work, one careful approach.

Larry’s Electric Works has provided electrical services since 1994 and was formally incorporated as a limited company in 2012. The office is in Tanga City, and projects are taken on across Tanzania and into neighbouring countries where the requirement calls for it.

The company works mainly on commercial, industrial and institutional requirements: installations in buildings and plants, industrial electrical works, generator systems, switchgear and transformers, street and external lighting, maintenance, testing and electrical design.

The project photographs on this site are the company's own. Client names appear with approval; dates, contract values and claimed outcomes do not, because they have not been verified. What appears here is what the company can support.

How the company works

Working principles

Four habits that shape how an enquiry becomes a finished installation.

Define the work before pricing it

Equipment, site conditions, access and timing are reviewed first, so a quotation covers the work that is actually required.

Keep engineering judgement in the loop

Design, technical reports and project supervision are supported by a registered professional engineer within the leadership.

Prove it before handover

Testing, inspection and commissioning checks confirm that an installation performs as intended before it is signed over.

Stay reachable after the job

Maintenance, routine inspection and corrective work can be arranged once an installation is in service.

Safety & quality

Electrical work is not finished until it is tested

Isolation, inspection, testing and commissioning are part of how work is completed here — not an optional extra at the end of a job.

Isolation before work

Circuits are identified and isolated before work begins, and existing installations are assessed for condition and live risk.

Electrical testing

Electrical testing, equipment testing and system inspection are used to confirm an installation performs as intended.

Commissioning and handover

Commissioning and handover testing complete the work, so the client receives an installation that has been checked.

Fault diagnosis

Faults are diagnosed and load assessed before repair scope is agreed, rather than replacing equipment on assumption.

Before handover

The checks that close out a job

Testing is a confirmed capability of the company, used both to diagnose faults and to prove that finished work performs as intended. What applies to a given project depends on the scope agreed at quotation.

  • Electrical testing of the completed installation
  • System inspection against the agreed scope
  • Equipment testing where equipment has been installed or repaired
  • Load assessment where capacity is part of the requirement
  • Commissioning and handover testing before the client accepts the work
  • A technical report where the client needs the results in writing

Being straight about what we do and do not have

Plenty of contractors imply a safety management system they cannot produce on request. We would rather tell you exactly where we stand, so nothing comes as a surprise during prequalification.

  • No formal written safety policy

The company does not hold a documented safety policy or written PPE and risk-assessment procedures, and does not claim to. Safety is managed on site through the practices above: identifying and isolating circuits, assessing the existing installation for condition and live risk, and testing and inspecting before anything is handed over.

  • If your project requires documented procedures

Some clients and main contractors require a written safety plan or method statement before work can start on their site. Raise that at enquiry stage. It can be discussed openly and agreed before any work is committed, rather than discovered halfway through a job.
